Last year I showed you the bamboo pyjamas from British Boxers which are still, without hesitation, my favourite PJs to date - the comfort is on another level and I genuinely think you’d be hard pressed to find sleepwear that is so soft, stretchy and breathable with eco-conscious materials from anywhere else.
This Spring, I’ve been trying one of their new bestsellers - the Women’s Brushed Cotton Pyjama Set in Westwood Pink Stripe. You won’t be able to stop touching these, the fabric is SO soft. British Boxers actually have their own special process to make them so touchably smooth: the clothes are dyed to their own colour specification, then brushed repeatedly before being woven in-house. Heaven.
Mother's Day gift ideas
Imagine laying these out with the morning breakfast in bed, ready to crawl into at the end of the day…
…or leaving them at the side of the bath ready to put on after a Mother’s Day soak…
Less clingy than the bamboo PJs I already have from British Boxers, the brushed cotton PJs can be worn anywhere - home or away (but they do have a matching dressing gown if you’d like some extra coverage!) and include a breast pocket as well as side pockets on the trousers.
The side pockets are made really well and as you can see from my photo, there is no pulling or gaping - they are fully functional and keep all the clean lines you’d want on this part of the body!
Size wise, I went for a Large again which is UK14 equivalent - as this material isn’t as stretchy as the bamboo and the cut is fitted I would definitely suggest sizing up if you are in any doubt at all. A smaller size would not have fitted me.
The top has enough length at the back to cover the bottom area, and not ride up as you bend over or sit down - which is appreciated!
The trousers have an adjustable tie waist, and the jacket features a round collar neckline. I found that I needed all of the buttons fastened for modesty as keeping the top one undone on these was a little low due to the button spacing. This isn’t a problem unless you have a larger bust - in which case I’d recommend sizing up anyway, or choosing something from their bamboo range which is more stretchy.
These luxury pyjamas would make such a lovely gift - I cannot recommend them highly enough, especially if you are looking for British made products (have a read of my previous post for more info about the company and their heritage). The colour of these PJs is gorgeous - but they do also come in a pale blue if you’d prefer a different colour.
If you are thinking of getting a set of these for your mum (or for your children to give to their mum - hint hint Dads!) then definitely don’t delay ordering as these styles are super popular and do sell out fast.
I can see that I will be rotating between these spring pink brushed cotton pyjamas, and my bamboo pyjamas from now on (time to throw away all of my old ones??) - I’m just off to browse the website now for ideas for summer sleepwear in a couple of months time!
